Privacy Policy
How we handle your information.
This page explains what The Fixit Crew LLC collects when you use thefixitcrew.pro, what we do with it, who else handles it, and how long we keep it. In short: your information stays on our own server, we don't sell it, and this site has no ad trackers.
What you give us
When you ask for an estimate, book a visit, or send us a message, we keep what you type: your name, phone number, email, address, and what you need done. When you book, we look up your address on a map to plan the drive. That lookup runs on our own server, so your address is not sent to Google or any other map company.
If you use the customer portal, we keep your email, your password (scrambled, so nobody can read it, including us), the questions you send us, and your answers on estimates and invoices.
When you sign or decline an estimate, change order or invoice in the portal, we save your name, your signature, any note you add, the date and time, your internet (IP) address, and the browser you used. That is our record of who signed and when.
What we collect on our own
Visit counts. We count page visits to see which pages people read. We use no cookies for this, and we don't store your internet address with it: your address and browser are turned into a code that changes every day, so we can tell visits apart without knowing who you are. Visit counts are deleted after 12 months. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we don't count your visit at all.
Server logs. Our server writes down each page request: the internet address, the browser, the page, and the time. These logs are deleted after 14 days.
Abuse protection. To stop people flooding our forms or guessing passwords, we keep a short count of attempts tied to an internet address (and, for sign-in, to the email typed). A count is deleted about a day after the last attempt.
Cookies
We use no advertising or tracking cookies. The only cookies on this site belong to the customer portal:
- A sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in. It runs out 12 hours after you last use the portal.
- Two security cookies the portal sets when you open it. One protects the sign-in form and the other remembers which page to send you back to. Both go away when you close your browser.
The portal can't work without these, so we don't ask before setting them, and the site has no cookie banner.
Companies that handle your information for us
Each one gets only what it needs to do its job.
- Hostinger rents us the server this site runs on and runs our business email.
- Resend sends our emails: booking confirmations, replies to estimate requests, receipts, portal sign-in links and copies of signed documents. Resend sees your email address and what the email says.
- Stripe handles card payments. You type your card on Stripe's own page. Stripe gets the amount, what it's for, and your email. We never see or store your card number.
- RunPod. When our crew uses our AI helper to write up notes, voice recordings or photos from your job, they can be sent to a computer we rent from RunPod for a short time. The write-up comes back to our server, and the rented computer deletes itself once it sits idle.
- If you turn on notifications in the portal, the company that makes your browser (such as Google, Apple or Mozilla) delivers them. A notification only says that we replied about your job.
We don't sell your information, and we don't share it for advertising.
How we use it
To answer you, give estimates, schedule and do the work, send bills, take payment, keep the records our business and taxes require, and keep the site safe.
How long we keep it
Requests, messages, bookings, estimates, invoices and signatures stay in our records until we delete them. We keep job and payment records as long as we need them for warranty work, taxes and the law.
Your choices
You can ask for a copy of what we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Send us a message through our contact form and we'll take care of it, unless we have to keep a record, such as a signed contract or a paid invoice.
Security
The site runs over an encrypted connection, passwords are scrambled, and payment keys are stored encrypted. No system is perfect, so if something ever goes wrong we'll tell the people affected.
Children
This site is for adults hiring a contractor. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll change the date at the bottom of this page.
